Social Studies News for Friday Sept. 2nd

Good morning all, and welcome to the Humanities Commonwealth blog. Here I'll be sharing information about your student's Social Studies classes each week.

Important Info for next week:

World Studies will continue finishing up their quarter 1 project. Students are creating a model related to the Scopes Monkey Trial. In Social Studies they will be completing their models and polishing their historical justification of the the model (a 1-2 page paper with work cited).

AP US History will turn in their essay on the Articles of Confederation and the US Constitution on Monday at 11:59pm. On Thursday, students will continue their study of Period 3, which covers 1754-1800. Students will begin working on Key Concept 3.3: "During Period 3, Migration within North America and competition over resources, boundaries, and trade intensified conflicts among peoples and nations"

Economics will begin working on their section of the Q1 humanities project, which includes a 1-2 page paper showing clear economic connections between The Merchant of Venice and concepts covered in Econ.
